Blackouts are a regular frustration for some South Australian households. Whether caused by storms, grid faults, or scheduled upgrades. For many families, losing power means more than just inconvenience; it can affect health, safety, and daily routines.

NRN is partnering with Safe Ohms Electrical to run a limited pilot across 30 South Australian homes. NRN will cover the cost of all equipment and installation, allowing eligible households to trial blackout protection without upfront system costs.

The trial tests blackout protection using solar, Sigenergy battery and inverter systems, and a gateway device. The purpose is to measure the real-world impact of backup power and understand how households value energy security.
