1. Eligibility to Refer

1.1 Participation in this Referral Campaign is limited to NRN employees who have been expressly invited to participate in the authorised Staff Phase of the campaign.

1.2 Eligible staff may refer friends, family members, or genuine personal contacts only.

1.3 Staff must not refer:

  • Existing NRN customers or leads;
  • Individuals already in NRN’s sales pipeline;
  • Contacts obtained through their employment, including from internal systems, CRM access, partner lists, or operational databases.

1.4 Participation is voluntary and separate from normal employment duties.

2. How to Refer

2.1 Each Referral Partner will receive a unique NRN referral link or code. Referral links or codes are issued to staff for the sole purpose of referring friends and family as part of the Staff Phase of the Referral Campaign.

2.2 A referral is only valid if the Referee submits their details through the Referral Partner’s unique link or code. Professional networks, mailing lists, business contacts, or contacts sourced through employment are not considered friends or family for the purposes of this campaign.

2.3 Referrals made via any other method (including verbal referrals, emails without the code/link, or social media comments) will not be valid.

2.4 Only referrals submitted during the Campaign Period are eligible.

2.5 Referral Partners must not submit personal information on behalf of a Referee unless the Referee has provided express, informed consent to be contacted by NRN. All information is handled in accordance with NRN’s Privacy Policy.

3. What Counts as a Successful Referral

A referral is considered successful only when all of the following conditions are met:

3.1 The Referee is a new NRN customer and has not previously been contacted, quoted, or included in NRN’s sales pipeline.

3.2 The Referee signs their NRN agreement by 13 February 2026.

3.3 The Referee’s solar and battery system is installed by an NRN-authorised Solar Retail Partner.

3.4 The installation passes all required safety, compliance, and metering checks.

3.5 The Referee has used only one referral code. Where multiple codes are submitted, NRN will recognise the earliest valid submission.

3.6 Installation is deemed complete once the system is installed, activated, and has passed all compliance and metering checks, as determined by NRN acting reasonably and in good faith..

3.7 NRN does not guarantee that any Referee will be accepted as a customer. Eligibility depends on property suitability, technical feasibility, regulatory requirements, and any applicable credit or eligibility assessments.

3.8 NRN may require identity verification or additional information to validate eligibility or prevent fraud.

Only once all conditions are satisfied will a referral be deemed successful.

4. Referral Rewards

4.1 Eligible Referral Partners receive $2,026 for each successful referral.

4.2 Rewards are paid only after installation is completed and the system is activated.

4.3 Payments are made via bank transfer (or another method determined by NRN).

4.4 Referral Partners must provide accurate banking details.

4.5 Referral rewards are unlimited, subject to the campaign cap of 450 successful referrals.

5. Conduct and Communication Rules

5.1 Referral Partners must only use NRN-approved materials and must not make representations about pricing, rebates, timelines, performance, savings, or eligibility beyond authorised content.

5.2 Referral Partners must not:

  • Advertise in misleading or deceptive ways;
  • Misrepresent the Simple Energy Bundle;
  • Use paid advertising, boosted posts, or sponsored promotions;
  • Offer additional incentives beyond NRN’s approved referral reward.

Referral Partners may only share referral links with people they personally know.
Unsolicited emails, SMS messages, social media messages, bulk messaging, or spam are strictly prohibited under the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).

5.3 NRN may request removal of any content that breaches these rules.

5.4 Referral Partners must not create their own advertising, landing pages, graphics, or promotional materials. Only NRN-approved materials may be used.

5.5 Referral Partners act in their own capacity and are not agents, employees, contractors, or representatives of NRN.

 5.6 To comply with Australian Consumer Law and NRN internal policies, staff must:

  • Only share official NRN-approved information.
  • Not make statements about pricing, rebates, timelines, performance, electricity bills, or technical matters beyond NRN’s authorised content.
  • Not promise benefits outside what is published in NRN-approved materials.
  • Not represent themselves as offering quotes, approval decisions, or binding commitments on NRN’s behalf.
  • Not use paid advertising, boosted posts, purchased databases, scraped data, AI-generated lead lists, or bulk messaging tools.
  • Not contact strangers or send unsolicited emails/SMS messages (Spam Act 2003).
  • Not access internal systems, customer databases or operational platforms to identify or target potential leads.

Staff must clearly separate their participation in the referral program from their work duties. Improper use of internal information or systems may be treated as a breach of NRN policy.

6. Disqualification and Fraud Prevention

6.1 NRN may disqualify any referral where:

  • Information is incorrect, incomplete, or misleading;
  • The Referee was already an NRN lead or customer;
  • A person attempts to refer themselves or their own property;
  • Referrals originate from automated systems, purchased databases, scraped data, AI-generated lead lists, or mass messaging tools;
  • There is evidence of spam, manipulation, or improper conduct.

NRN may withhold payment while investigating suspected breaches.

6.2 Using internal access, employment knowledge, or influence to identify, prioritise, or progress a referral.

7. Notification and Tracking

7.1 Referral Partners may receive notifications at key stages, including:

  • Referral submission confirmation;
  • NRN agreement approval;
  • Installation completion and reward processing.

7.2 Referral status updates may be requested via NRN Support.

8. Campaign Period

8.1 13 February 2026 is the final date on which a referral may be submitted using a valid referral link or code, or until 450 successful referrals are reached, whichever occurs first.

8.2 Countersigning and installation may occur after the Campaign Period, provided all eligibility conditions are met.

8.3 This promotion genuinely ends on the published dates. Any extensions will only occur for operational or regulatory reasons and will be communicated transparently.

9. Conflict of Interest

9.1 NRN employees must not:

  • Refer themselves or their own property;
  • Refer leads encountered through their employment;
  • Refer customers assigned to them internally;
  • Influence operational or sales outcomes for their own referrals (e.g., prioritising, accelerating, or influencing lead handling).

Any perceived conflict must be disclosed to the Compliance or People & Culture team for investigation.

10. Tax Obligations

10.1 Referral rewards may constitute taxable income.

10.2 Referral Partners are responsible for their own tax reporting obligations. NRN does not provide tax advice.

11. General Conditions

11.1 NRN may amend or withdraw the campaign if necessary. Any changes will not affect referrals submitted prior to the date of change.

11.2 Participation constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

11.3 NRN will act reasonably and in good faith in determining eligibility, validation, and payments.

12. Privacy

NRN handles personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
Referral Partners must obtain express consent from Referees before submitting their details.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NRN is not liable for any loss arising from participation in the Referral Campaign, except where caused by NRN’s negligence or breach of law.
